When, in disgrace with fortune and men's eyes - Sonnet 29

Another sonnet from William Shakespeare. Each sonnet is a gem of wisdom about human nature. If interested read more sonnets. They are easy to find and such wonderful writing. Who else likes Shakespeare? Leave me a comment

The Nutcracker-Tchaikovsky

Image
I love ballet. Love everything about it. The dancing, the costumes, the little girls coming in dressed in their own ballet outfits. Just love it. I have seen The Nutcracker before, but, l never tire of it. This ballet is a classic. Victorian ballet are our state ballet company and tour in the suburbs and country areas. They are so good and gracefully come out after every performance in full costume for photos. Look at the end of the video and you will see the photo l took. Will definitely be seeing them perform again next year. What's your favourite ballet? Please leave me a comment and let's start a conversation.

COLLARD GREENS AND GRAVY, BLUES WITH A FEELIN'

Image
Today l'm talking about the blues. Following on from last week, l'm talking about the best blues band l saw at Wangarratta. The festival is kicking off again next Friday, and, back when l was attending there used to be a blues tent. It was situated down by the river( a river that has flooded before). I was in that tent one very rainy Saturday night and sat listening to the music while watching the water slowly creep closer to the tent with all the amps and cords and all the other electrical things in the tent. But that's another story. We saw this band in a very crowded pub and the place was jumping. It was the music that tempted us in and what great music it was. In my opinion a blues band always sounds better with a harmonica player and that's what this group had with Ian Collard. There were drinks flowing and a good time was had by all. I like blues music and l like this band. Like other bands they had gone through changes in line up over the years. One original memb...

All she was worth - Miyuki Miyabe

Image
Today l'm talking about the first Japanese crime novel that l am reading. It surprised me to realise that l had never read any Japanese crime novels. Miyuki Miyabe is a well known author in Japan. There have been 10 films made from her books. So far, so good and l think l will finish this book. Have any of you heard of this author? Have any of you read this book or any other of her books? Please let me know.
